COLLECTIONS Nikᾱya

နိကာယ -       အေပါင္း၊ နိကာယ္။

ျမတ္စြာဘုရား ေဟာၾကားေတာ္မူေသာ ေဒသနာအားလုံးကုိ ပထမသဂၤါယနာတင္ပြဲ၌ ပၪၥနိကာယ္ေခၚ နိကာယ္ငါးရပ္အျဖစ္ ေအာက္ပါအတုိင္း ပုိင္းျခားထားရွိသည္ -

(၁) ရွည္လ်ားေသာ သုတ္အေပါင္းအစု (ဒီဃနိကာယ္)၊

(၂) မရွည္လြန္း, မတုိလြန္းေသာ အလတ္စားျဖစ္ေသာ သုတ္ အေပါင္းအစု (မဇၩိမနိကာယ္)၊

(၃) အေၾကာင္းအရာ စသည္အလုိက္ စပ္လ်ဥ္းရာ သုတ္အေပါင္းအစု (သံယုတၱနိကာယ္)၊

(၄) တရားမ်ားကုိ တစ္ပါးစုမွ တစ္ဆယ့္တစ္ပါးစုအထိ အသီးသီး စုေပါင္းေဖာ္ျပထားေသာ တရားအေပါင္းအစု (အဂုၤတၱရနိကာယ္)၊

(၅) ေသးငယ္ေသာ သုတ္အေပါင္းအစု (ခုဒၵကနိကာယ္)။ ပိဋကလည္း႐ႈ။

The teachings of the Buddha were divided into five collections called Paṅcanikᾱya by the arahats during the First Buddhist Council.

They are:

(1) Collection of long Discourses, Dighanikᾱya;

(2) Collection of medium – length Discourses, Majjhimanikᾱya;

(3) Collection of groups of connected Discourses, Saṁyuttanikᾱya;

(4) Collection of numerically graduated Discourses, Aṅguttaranikᾱya; and

(5) Collection of shorter, i.e., the remaining Discourses, Khuddakanikᾱya.
