KHANDHAKA DUTIES Khandhakavatta

ခႏၶက၀တၱ -    ခႏၶကက်င့္၀တ္။

၀ိနယပိဋက မဟာ၀ဂၢက်မ္းႏွင့္ စူဠ၀ဂၢက်မ္းတုိ႔၌ ပါရွိေသာ ရဟန္းသာမေဏတုိ႔ က်င့္သုံးလုိက္နာရမည့္ က်င့္၀တ္မ်ားကုိ ခႏၶက၀တ္ဟုေခၚသည္။ 

ထုိခႏၶကက်င့္၀တ္မ်ားမွာ -
(၁) ဧည့္သည္ရဟန္းက်င့္ရမည့္ အာဂႏၲဳက၀တ္၊ ဧည့္သည္ (အာဂႏၲဳက) ရဟန္းမ်ား အာရာမ္အတြင္းသုိ႔ မ၀င္မီ ဖိနပ္ခၽြတ္ရျခင္း၊
(၂) ေက်ာင္းေနရဟန္းက်င့္ရမည့္ အာ၀ါသိက၀တ္၊ ဧည့္သည္ရဟန္းကုိျမင္လွ်င္ ခရီးဦးႀကိဳျပဳျခင္း၊ သပိတ္သကၤန္းကုိ လွမ္းယူျခင္း၊ ဧည့္သည္ရဟန္းႀကီးကုိ ရွိခုိးျခင္း၊ ေျခေဆးေရ ေျခေဆးအင္ပ်ဥ္ စသည္တုိ႔ကုိ အနီး၌ထားျခင္းစသည္၊
(၃) ခရီးသြားရဟန္းက်င့္ရမည့္ ဂမိက၀တ္၊ ခရီးထြက္ခြာမည့္ ရဟန္းသည္ ေက်ာင္းတံခါးမ ေလသာတံခါးတုိ႔ကုိ ပိတ္ျခင္း၊ အတူေနရဟန္းသာမေဏတုိ႔ကုိ ပန္ၾကားျခင္း စသည္၊
(၄) အႏုေမာဒနာျပဳရာတြင္ က်င့္ရမည့္ အႏုေမာဒနာ၀တ္၊
(၅) ဆြမ္းစားဇရပ္၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ ဘတၲဂၢ၀တ္၊
(၆) ဆြမ္းခံရာ၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ ပိ႑စာရိက၀တ္၊
(၇) ေတာေက်ာင္းေနရဟန္း က်င့္ရမည့္ အာရညိက၀တ္၊ ေသာက္ေရ သုံးေရ တည္ထားျခင္း၊ မီးပြတ္ခုံ၊ မီးပြတ္က်ည္ ေတာင္ေ၀ွးထားျခင္း၊ အရပ္ေလးမ်က္ႏွာ နကၡတ္တာရာ မွတ္သားထားျခင္းစသည္၊
(၈) ေက်ာင္းအိပ္ေနရာႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ က်င့္ရမည့္ ေသနာသန၀တ္၊ ေညာင္ေစာင္း အင္းပ်ဥ္ အိပ္ရာေနရာတုိ႔ကုိ သုတ္သင္သန္႕ရွင္းျခင္း၊ ေနလွန္းေပးျခင္း၊ ပရိ၀ုဏ္ ေရခ်ဳိးအိမ္ ၀စၥကုဋီတုိ႔ကုိ တံျမက္လွည္းျခင္း စသည္၊
(၉) ဇ႐ုံးအိမ္ (ေရခ်ဳိးခန္း)၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ ဇႏၲာဃရ၀တ္၊
(၁၀) ၀စၥကုဋိ (အိမ္သာ)၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ ၀စၥကုဋိ၀တ္၊
(၁၁) ဥပဇၩာယ္ဆရာ၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ ဥပဇၩာယ၀တ္၊
(၁၂) အတူေနတပည့္၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ သဒၶိ၀ိဟာရိက၀တ္၊
(၁၃) နိႆရည္းဆရာ၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ အာစရိယ၀တ္၊ နံနက္ေစာေစာထ၍ ကုိယ္၀တ္ကုိ လက္ကန္ေတာ့တင္ကာ မ်က္ႏွာသစ္ေရ ဒန္ပူကပ္ျခင္း၊ ယာဂုဆြမ္းကပ္ျခင္း၊ သပိတ္ခြက္ေဆးျခင္း၊ ေက်ာင္းအိပ္ေနရာတုိ႔ကုိ သုတ္သင္ျခင္း၊ ေနလွန္းျခင္း၊ တံျမက္လွည္းျခင္း၊ ေနရာခင္းျခင္း စသည္၊
(၁၄) အနီးေနတပည့္၌ က်င့္ရမည့္ အေႏၲ၀ါသိက၀တ္ - ဟူ၍ ၁၄-ပါးရွိ၏။

Duties prescribed for bhikkhus and novices
Duties of bhikkhus and novices stated in the Mahvagga and Clavagga of the Vinaya Pitaka are known as Khandhaka Duties. They are:
(1) duty as a guest (in which the visiting bhikkhu is required to take off his footware, etc.), gantukavatta;
(2) duty as a host (in which, among other things, the host must receive a visiting bhikkhu warmly, take care of his bowl and robe, and, should the visitor be senior to him in entering the Order, make obeisance and provide him with water and other necessities for washing his feet), vsikavatta;
(3) duty before travelling (in which a bhikkhus is required to close the doors and windows of the monastery, ask fellow residents permission to travel, etc.), gamikavatta;
(4) duty to say words of appreciation for the good deeds done, anumodanvatta;
(5) duties in a refectory, battaggavatta;
(6) duties relating to going on an alms-round, pidcrikavatta;
(7) duties in a sylvan monastery, providing water for drinking, providing means of lighting a fire, providing a leaning staff, nothing the orientation of the place with reference to the stars; araññikavatta;
(8) duties concerning living quarters (in which he is) required to air bedding, sweep and clean the compound, bathroom and lavatory, sensanavatta;
(9) duties concerning the bathroom, jantgharavatta;
(10) duty concerning the latrine (toilet), vaccakuivatta;
(11) duty to attend on one’s preceptor, uppajjhyavatta;
(12) duty of a mentor towards bhikkhus and novices who depend on him, saddhivihrikavatta;

(13) duties towards one’s mentors (in which a disciple is required to get up early and attend on his mentors, respectfully offering toothbrush and water for washing, prepare and serve breakfast, clean and tidy up the sleeping quarters, give the bedding an airing etc.), acariyavatta; and
(14) duty of a teacher towards one’s close disciple, antevsikavatta.
