ပါဏာတိပါတာ -      သူတစ္ပါး၏အသက္ကုိ သတ္ျခင္း။

ေသေစလုိေသာ စိတ္ျဖင့္ မည္သည့္ သတၱ၀ါ၏အသက္ကုိမဆုိ သတ္ျဖတ္ျခင္းသည္ ပါဏာတိပါတျဖစ္သည္။ သတၱ၀ါအႀကီးအငယ္ကုိလုိက္၍ လည္းေကာင္း၊ သတၱ၀ါ၏ အက်င့္သီလဂုဏ္သိကၡာကုိလုိက္၍လည္းေကာင္း အျပစ္ႀကီးငယ္ျခားနား၏။ ခႏၶာကုိယ္ႏွင့္ သီလစေသာဂုဏ္တုိ႔ တူညီရာ၌ ေစတနာ, လုံ႔လ အားနည္းလွ်င္ အျပစ္နည္း၏။ အားႀကီးလွ်င္ အျပစ္ႀကီး၏။

Killing a living being

Killing of any living being with intent means a breach of the precept against killing, but the offence may be greater or lesser for the perpetrator according to the size and morality of the victim. Furthermore, these factors being equal, gravity of the offence will be determined by the killer’s motive.
