NOVICE Sᾱmaṇera

သာမေဏရ -  ရွင္သာမေဏ၊ ကုိရင္၊ ေမာင္ရွင္။

ရွင္သာမေဏသည္ ဆယ္ပါးသီလကုိ ေစာင့္ထိန္း၍ လိင္ (၁၀)ပါး, ဒဏ္ (၁၀)ပါးႏွင့္ ေသခိယ (၇၅)ပါး, ခႏၶက၀တ္ (၁၄)ပါးတုိ႔ကုိ လုိက္နာက်င့္သုံးရသည္။

One who has taken what is called lower-ordination.

A novice observes the ten precepts, avoids the ten offences which would result in being defrocked (lingas) and the ten misdemeanors which are punishable (daṇḍas) and dutifully follows the 75 minors precepts regulating his etiquette (sekhiyas) and the duties prescribed for the members of the Order (Khandhaka-vatta).
