သရဏ - ကုိးကြယ္အားထားရာ ရတနာသုံးပါး။
ဆည္းကပ္ကုိးကြယ္သူတုိ႔၏ ေဘးရန္အႏၲရာယ္အမ်ဳိးမ်ဳိး ပယ္ေဖ်ာက္ေပးတတ္၍ ဘုရား-တရား-သံဃာ ရတနာသုံးပါးကုိ သရဏ ဟု ေခၚသည္။

The Three Gems are called Refuge because they protect the one who takes refuge in them against all kinds of danger and misfortune.
