SUITABLE PLACE - ဧကမႏၲ

ဧကမႏၲ (Ekamanta) - သင့္ေလ်ာ္ေလ်ာက္ပတ္ေသာ အရပ္။

အသိဉာဏ္ရွိသူတုိ႔သည္ ဘုရား, တရား, သံဃာ, ဆရာ, မိဘ စေသာ အေလးဂ႐ုျပဳအပ္သူတုိ႔ထံသုိ႔ ဆည္းကပ္ခစားေသာအခါ သင့္ေလ်ာ္ေလ်ာက္ပတ္ေသာအရပ္၌ ေန၍သာ ဆည္းကပ္ခစားၾကသည္။ ထုိနည္းျဖင့္ ဆည္းကပ္ခစားမႈ ျပဳရျခင္းသည္ ပညာရွိတုိ႔၏ ေကာင္းမြန္ေသာ ထုံးတမ္းစဥ္လာ က်င့္၀တ္တစ္မ်ဳိး ျဖစ္သည္။ အေလးဂ႐ုျပဳအပ္သူႏွင့္ ေ၀းကြာလြန္းျခင္း၊ နီးကပ္လြန္းျခင္း၊ ေလတင္အရပ္ျဖစ္ျခင္း၊ ျမင့္ျမတ္ေသာ ေနရာျဖစ္ျခင္း၊ ေရွ႕တည့္တည့္ျဖစ္ျခင္း၊ ေနာက္ဘက္တည့္တည့္ျဖစ္ျခင္းဟူေသာ အျပစ္ ၆-ပါး ကင္းလြတ္ေသာ ေနရာကုိ “သင့္ေလ်ာ္ေလ်ာက္ပတ္ေသာ ေနရာအရပ္” ဟု ေခၚသည္။

SUITABLE PLACE

When approaching a person worthy of respect, such as the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Saṁgha, one’s parents and teachers, a wise person occupies a suitable place. This is a noble custom practiced by the wise. A suitable place there means staying neither too close nor too far from the revered one, a place which is neither upwind nor at a higher level in relation to his and where one is not directly facing him or with one’s back towards him. These six attributes constitute a suitable place where one may attend on a revered person.
